Whitehall Cottage is idyllically situated just above the banks of the river Wye in Wales, in a very large cottage garden with a stream. From the cottage there are views on to the garden, the surrounding woods and fields and the river Wye.

This 200 year old detached former farm cottage has been imaginatively restored and has a comfortable beamed interior, original stonework, a wood-burning stove in a large ancient fireplace. There are 3 bedrooms sleeping six.

There are many walks, several starting from the cottage, as well
as cycling, canoeing and birdwatching. Within 10 miles are all the attractions of the lower Wye valley: Tintern Abbey, Monmouth, Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean. An easy drive away are the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, Hay-on-Wye and Hereford with its cathedral and the Mappa Mundi.

Or you can just relax in the garden enjoying the peace, the views, the woodpeckers, nuthatches and buzzards and the deer that sometimes visit the top meadow at dusk, have a barbecue of locally produced food, or walk 500m along the riverbank to the riverside Boat Inn for local beer and a meal.
